I’m proud to announce that after many years of racing/competing, I’m headed for the biggest race yet. After qualifying at the Idaho City Nationals, May 30-31, I’ve been selected by the AMA to ride at the 84th International Six Days Enduro for Team USA. The event is Oct.12-17 in Figueira da Foz, Portugal.
The event has attracted national teams from as many as 32 different countries in recent years. Over the six days and upwards of 1250 miles a rider must contend with strict rules about time allowances and restrictions on mechanical replacements, carrying out his or her own track-side repairs. It’s a supreme test of rider and machine. Usually refereed to as the “Olympics of Motorcycling”, the ISDE can attract entries of more than 500 riders, together with thousands of support crew and spectators.
Unfortunately, I must cover the expenses, traveling over seas, bike rental, entry fees, etc. which add up to over $10,000. I’m holding at least one fundraiser to gain support and would greatly appreciate any donations we could use as prizes or silent auction items. Any other form of support would help immensely as well.
